Intel WiFi 6 AX200 Not Working:

Intel WiFi 6 AX200 Not Working anymore, and I’m about to head off to Google to see if they have anything for me. Instead, I end up on Intel’s website. They have an update released for older versions of their WiFi drivers. They are trying to fix bugs that cause my WiFi to not work.

Fix the bugs:

They didn’t patch the driver but instead included a small utility that you can run from your Start Menu that fixes the various bugs that cause your WiFi to not function correctly. It works quite well for me, and I haven’t noticed any issues so far. So I continue looking for the official Intel driver for this device.

Wireless Fix:

Finally, I get lucky and find one. It’s called Wireless Fix and it’s very easy to use. You just open the program and follow the simple steps to install the latest drivers. Then it will scan your system and find all of the missing drivers. It will then offer to download and install those drivers for you.

Install the Missing drivers:

After it has scanned your computer and installed the missing drivers it will show you where they are. It will also tell you which ones are broken or corrupt. So make sure to look at that list and try to fix the ones that are broken. I tried fixing the corrupt drivers but they were only partially fixed so I had to take them apart from one by one.

About the automatic updates:

The next thing I tried was to turn off the automatic updates that Apple uses on OS X. It seems like those updates are causing more damage than good on the WiFi adapter. So I simply ran an update and then unplugged the device from my laptop. I then restarted my computer and the WiFi seemed to be working fine again. I’m not sure if that fix works.

Wireless networking device drivers:

Finally, I went ahead and tried changing the AP and wireless networking device drivers. Again, this didn’t work but at least it helped me isolate the cause. I removed the Wi-Fi dongle and then tried connecting to the Internet using my laptop again. That did help but it was only a matter of time before my device would not recognize any of the Wi-Fi networks available.

I also ran an anti-virus program called AntiMalware SP on my laptop. No luck there either. I’m now starting to get a little frustrated. Either the Wi-Fi drivers are badly corrupt or I have bad ones…either way I now need to pay someone to fix this mess. Not an enjoyable experience at all.

Network arrangement:

At the end of the day, I had to decide. Do I just give up on my device and go back to the old network arrangement? Or should I just roll the dice and hope that Apple can get these drivers updated soon? It’s a decision which I think I should take the hard way. If they can get the iPhone working with older drivers so can I.

Un-install the drivers and re-install them:

If it were my choice I would just uninstall the Wi-Fi dongle and install the latest Intel drivers. The device would then just hang when trying to connect to a wireless network. It’s really that simple.

Fortunately, Apple released an update to address this problem early this year. I was able to download and install it in no time at all. No more hanging, no more reboots, and my devices are now consistently working.

Before this update:

Before this latest update, I was already starting to get annoyed by other people constantly updating their devices without updating their WiFi drivers. This could lead to poor quality performance and erratic behavior. Don’t let this happen to you. Just make sure that your device is updated and your WiFi drivers are optimized.

Stay up-to-date:

It is advisable to always stay up to date with the latest drivers for your device. It is not only safe but it will allow your device to run much smoother as well. You should keep in mind that some devices may need to have their drivers replaced periodically. You can do this yourself by visiting the website of the manufacturer and downloading the latest updates.
